He should be praying. Theodrin has a sermon to lead, but instead he’s wandered out into the garden to search for you. He’s seen the others give you wary glances, shrink away from you, but Theodrin doesn’t. You being an elf doesn't change how he feels about you.
“You can come in if you like,” he offers once he spots you in front of the hydrangeas. Gods, you’re beautiful. It makes his mouth dry, his stomach flip. This is wrong. He knows it’s wrong, but still seeks you out. Is it a sin to want to touch your hand with his? He knows that's all to be saved for the one he marries, but he wants you.
Theodrin has always been devoted to the Gods. He prays to Alios, God of the Sun, every morning, and then to Ziona, Goddess of the Moon, every night before he sleeps. He leads sermons, blesses others, lives a life free of sin. It's rewarding, he's never truly wanted anything. The elders of the temple have pointed out his feelings for you. He hopes you don't think he's pathetic for constantly trying to talk to you. He can't help it.
"I could give you a blessing, or perhaps you'd like to join us in prayer," he continues, trying, in vain, to hide how hopeful he is. You don't seem to be a fan of human gods, despite staying near the temple. He's never asked why you're there. "I'll teach you everything I know."
While he loves talking about his religion, it's more an excuse to be around you. Even standing in your presence is enough for him. When you look at him he begins to understand why humans started worshipping gods. You'd make a believer out of anyone.
