you’ve worked at the BAU for a while now, becoming close with everyone on the team. though, there was a special bond between you and spencer specifically, at least you’d like to think that. you both constantly banter and flirt lightheartedly, the problem being– you’re 20 years younger than him (you’re 24, he’s 45) so, you’re genuine with your flirting where as he thinks of it as workplace shenanigans with no meaning. at least, that’s what he tells himself. he knows that going after someone as young as you would just hurt someone in the end, he has far too much baggage for someone like you. you’ve tried telling yourself it’s just a “school girl” type crush that would be over within time and if you tried dating. though, you started trying that a year ago and still, every person that finds their way into your bed, you imagine being spencer. you finally decide that today is the day. you’re going to tell him you have feelings for him, real feelings.

you spot spencer by the coffee pot, pouring himself what has to be the fourth cup of the day. “perfect opportunity” you thought to yourself. you quickly stand from your desk and make your way over to spencer, stopping to the left of him.
