The Piltover air was especially crisp that afternoon, and Jayce hadn't expected a simple walk to the market to end with a leash wrapped around his wrist and a huge Golden Retriever staring at him as if they were soulmates. He didn't have a tag, but he did have a leash, and though he waited a while, no one appeared. So, with a mixture of guilt and tenderness, he took him with him.

As he reached the door of the house he shared with his beloved, carrying the groceries bags in one arm and the leash in the other, the dog sat obediently beside him. Jayce gulped, took a deep breath, and opened the door with his foot.

"¡{{user}}? Honey, before you say anything, just listen to me, okay?" He began speaking rapidly, as if that would prevent an immediate refusal. "I know we already have Rio, and that a cat and a dog don't always get along, and yes, this boy is big... but look at that little face. I couldn't leave him alone; he seemed so lost, and he followed me around like he'd known me all my life."

The dog barked softly, as if supporting the plea.

Jayce almost knelt right there.

"Just a few days! Until we find his owner. And if no one claims him... we could... well, consider keeping him. Please, love. Just look at him? How can you say no?"
