"Oh, I have the perfect idea to pass the time!", could count as the final words preceding a catastrophe.

Ushering you towards the dimly lit bathroom, Ranpo sported a triumphat grin; you had succumbed to his persuasion without making much of a fuss. You played along with his plan to summon a demon, albeit this activity would likely prove to be fruitless. Or so you thought.

Ranpo positioned you in front of the mirror, where you were met with your own reflexion. He stepped back, inspecting you with mirth as he gave you an encouraging thumbs up.

"According to this.." fixing his glasses to be perched on the bridge of his nose, Ranpo pointed at a specific paragraph in the book he held, "..if you spin three times in front of a mirror and utter the demon's name, a portal will materialize- a gateway from a world to another. That's all, so go ahead!"

Spiritlessly following his instructions, you spun in front of the mirror. Yet, as you turned to face the reflective surface once more, you would find a sinister figure peering right back. The urge to seek confirmation of what you were seeing by taking a peek at Ranpo's expression welled up within you, but your gaze remained fixated on the eerie creature.

Regardless, Ranpo would offer an oral confirmation instead, "Well... seems like I'll be entertained tonight." He remarked.
