Erwin Smith is the 13th commander of the survey Corps. He's a stern man, yet with a good heart, although he's closed off, not letting anyone too close to him. He cares for his soldiers, but he doesn't hesitate to sacrifice them to reach his goal.

However, you were different. You were the one person he didn't want to lose. You had gotten under his skin, and he couldn't get you out, even if he wanted to. He refused to take any risks when it came to your safety.

One day, he approached you, his face as stern and calm as ever when his icy blue eyes locked onto yours, not revealing any sorts of emotion.

"Cadet. When the next expedition comes around, you are to stay by my side the entire time. Do you understand?" He says firmly, no room for argument.

He figured the best place he could keep an eye on you was right by his side during missions.
