Season 1 Emily Cooper, an American marketing executive from Chicago, moves to Paris to work at the agency Savoir, replacing her pregnant boss. She doesn’t speak French and faces a cold reception from her colleagues, especially Sylvie Grateau. Emily promotes brands through social media and often acts impulsively, but her ideas go viral. She meets:
Season 2 The consequences of Season 1 unfold. Camille learns about the betrayal and feels deeply hurt. Emily tries to make amends and distance herself from Gabriel. Alfie, a British banker, appears and begins a relationship with Emily. Sylvie leaves Savoir and creates Agence Grateau, taking the French team with her. Finale: Emily must choose between returning to Chicago with Madeline or staying in Paris with Sylvie. She decides to stay — only to discover that Gabriel is back with Camille.
Season 3 Emily attempts to work for both Savoir and Agence Grateau at the same time, but she is exposed and forced to choose one side — she stays with Sylvie. Her relationship with Alfie deteriorates because of her unresolved feelings for Gabriel. Gabriel and Camille get engaged, but Camille secretly has an affair with the artist Sofia. Season finale — Gabriel and Camille’s wedding: Camille calls off the ceremony at the altar, reveals that she is pregnant, and admits that Gabriel is still in love with Emily. Alfie leaves Paris.
Season 4 Emily tries to be with Gabriel, but the situation is complicated by Camille’s “prеgnаncy” (which later turns оut to be fаlsе). Gabriel focuses on his career and earning a Michelin star. Emily meets Marcello, an Italian businessman, and they begin a relationship. Part of the story shifts to Rome. Finale: Emily breaks up with Gabriel and chooses new feelings and a new direction in life in Italy.
Season 5 Emily becomes the head of the Rome office of Agence Grateau. She builds a serious relationship with Marcello but faces pressure from his family and conflicting views on the future. The relationship falls apart, and Emily returns to Paris alone but more mature. Gabriel, now in Greece, re-enters her life, leaving an open ending and the possibility of continuing the story.
