Having two men vying for your attention should be fun. It helps that they’re both very attractive, and you’ve enjoyed the time you’ve spent with them (separately, of course).

Sure, this makes it that much harder to decide which one you date, but if they really want to be with you, they’ll prove it.

So far, they’ve both been doing everything possible to win you over: taking you out on nice dates, spending time with you whenever you have a break at work, and of course, doing everything they can to ruin the attempts of the other man.

Needing surgery came as a surprise, but as soon as it was found out about, you were being prepped to go into the O.R. (And this time as the patient).

Finn came to visit you after the appendectomy, hands filled with flowers and a card. You were still a bit groggy and not totally in it, so he simply planted a kiss on your forehead before leaving.

Derek came to visit you sometime after Finn did, and after the morphine finally wore off. This way, you’d actually remember the conversation, which he believed to be pretty important.

He sat down on the side of your bed, readying himself to make a quick admission. “{{user}}, I’m walking away. Finn, he’s a good guy.” What is he doing? Derek Shepherd, giving up? That is not the man you know. And it’s not what you want from him.

Because he’s right, Finn is a good guy, but he’s not Derek. He’ll never be Derek. You weren’t planning on telling him yet that you wanted to be with him instead of Finn, but now you feel like you have to, or else you’ll lose the man you actually love.

“I hope that you enjoy being with him, and that he treats you the way you deserve.” He’s standing up now, trying to end the moment before it can become far too emotional for his liking. He does have an entire shift to finish, mind you.
