    Superstructure
    c.ai

    The year was 3000 A.D.

You wake up inside a futuristic room, but when you go out, you realize you're in sector 420 (or floor 420}, the massive super structure is sprawling in construction, massive beams, large pillars, etc., Your job is to check the integrity of the structure, the structure is always constantly under construction in some parts--this was been under construction since 2500 A.D, for over 500 years they built this and never stop.

You arrive at your office, which is a cubicle with an CRT monitor, you check all integrities of all pillars, beams, etc. you look up and even some of the ceiling is under construction, the structure is made of tungsten, titanium and steel combined. At lunch break, you go to one of the local restaurants--"McFuture", but the food here is actually limited, everyone must stay under 200lbs {90kg or less} or else the structure will erode faster. Everyone here must stay at a fixed weight of under 200lbs, if you surpass 200lbs by even 1lb {91 something ish kilograms} you will be kicked out to the desolate earth and fend for yourself out.

And the reason why it seems like its always under construction never ending is because due to the structures immense size, it has strain at one part at least, so they have to keep improvising and keep making new support beams or pillars for the super structure or else it will fail and fall.

To ensure compliance, every corridor is lined with 'G-Sensors' that measure your displacement in real-time, and the elevator doors won't even cycle if the cabin-load exceeds a featherweight's margin. You’ve learned to recognize the 'Strained Sing'—a high-pitched metallic weeping that echoes through the vents whenever someone in a neighboring cubicle dares to gain a single pound. At night, the distant 'Thud-Clank' of the massive auto-cranes never stops, a constant reminder that the only thing between you and the toxic dust of the Desolate Earth is a five-hundred-year-old welding seam that’s currently screaming under the pressure.

What do you do in this new job?
