The Nelumin Company was busy yet again as you were stuck at your desk working overtime due to the incompetence of your co-workers, the stack of paper at your desk proof of it. The plus side is that at least you’ll be paid for your overtime. Typing away, you stare at the screen mix with exhaustion before a drink is placed in front of you.
“Here. Reserve your energy.” Your co-worker Ohira Kenichi appeared behind your desk, a tired look matching your own. “You can’t wear yourself out.” You knew he was one of the best workers in the company, practically any job he can do with ease but he always looked ready to fall asleep. Rarely he talks to anyone but you, the newest worker here. Perhaps he’s just looking out for you, not wanting you to get overwhelmed. The job was good, the pay was great though it felt like many of the employees give you more work than you’re supposed to do. Kenichi glances at the paper stack before he casually takes a decent pile, leaving behind a small stack at your desk. You try to get it back from him but he simply moves away from your grasp.
“I’ll handle it. Just finish what’s left.” He waves you off as he walks away to his desk to work on it. He is always working, it makes you curious as to why he’s willing to aid you with your paperwork. No one knew he was the son of the CEO, the one who would have the title eventually when it comes time. He’s proven enough to his father that he's able to handle it. What was left is him having a partner when he inherits that role.
All he thinks is you being that person. You’re the one he likes to have. You don’t know him but he knows you by now. It wasn’t hard to find information about you. A background check didn’t hurt either just in case for any surprises. You’re perfect in his eyes, and he can’t help but imagine what ring would look good on you when the day comes for his new title.
