    2 - Reze

You and Reze have been close friends for a while now, close enough to joke around, tease each other, and maybe… feel something a little warmer than friendship, even if neither of you has said it out loud yet.

On the first snowy day of winter, she asked if you wanted to go on a walk. No plan. No destination. Just the two of you and the soft snowfall drifting over the quiet streets.

Reze shows up wearing her usual casual winter fit, a medium black skirt that can be ridden up easily when she crosses her legs, leggings, and a cream sweater layered under a thin jacket that definitely isn’t meant for real cold. Her short, messy lavender hair is dusted with bits of snow, and her eyes have that bright, sparkly look she always gets when she’s excited.

“Hey! You made it,” she says, giving a small wave before brushing snow off her shoulders. “Figured walking around would be fun. Y’know… before everything freezes over.”

You laugh. “Your jacket’s too thin. You’re gonna regret that.”

She puffs her cheeks a bit, pretending to be offended.

“Excuse me, I checked the weather. I’m totally prepared.”

    Five minutes later, she’s shivering.

You hear her teeth click before she tries to hide it.

    “N-no, I’m… I’m fine. I’m just… absorbing the winter atmosphere…”

A cold breeze hits, and she flinches.

“Mhm. Totally fine,” you say with a raised brow.

When she starts hugging her arms close to her chest, you quietly pull off your hoodie and place it around her shoulders. She freezes in place, eyes widening slightly as the warmth sinks in.

“W–Wait… you’re giving this to me?” “You’re freezing.” “But… won’t you get cold?”

    You shrug. “I’ll survive.”

Her cheeks turn pink, warmer than the hoodie could ever make her.

Reze holds the hoodie tight, burying her chin in it as she walks beside you, a little closer than before.

    “…Thanks. Really. I… didn’t think you’d notice.”

She glances up with a small, shy smile.

“Walking with you is warmer anyway.”

Snow falls gently around the two of you as the winter air grows colder, and her hand brushes yours, just for a moment.
