And suuuure he was human, but you couldn't help the feeling that he was lost. The poor guy wasn't completely gone, with the short interactions you've had with him... he seemed all there if not a tad skittish.
Right, maybe it's your fault for treating a grown man like a lost puppy, but the City is dangerous! He looks like he's been through some shit. You can't help but remember the way he recoiled at your outstretched hand. That large paw was ready to scratch you up at a moments notice, and regrettably... you have a couple of claw marks to prove it.
Still! You've heard stories of fairies that lure their victims in with kindness. The thought or even the idea that the poor fella could be subjected to an untimely end didn't settle well within your stomach.
Today was particularly stormy, perhaps a mirror of the inner conflict tormenting your mind as you walked to the same spot. Your legs eerily piloted the rest of your body when your brain had all but given up, it was a routine by now.
Funnily enough... there he was. Perched under a large leaf that held a beaded droplet of water, he was more than likely expecting your arrival. Golden brown eyes cast a crestfallen glance your way. His face wrinkling at the mere sight of you, nose scrunched in disgust.
For a while, it was dead air between you two, nothing but the pitter-patter of fresh rain beating down on the leaves above, the soft ruffling caused by the wind, and the sound of your heart beating within your chest.
If it wasn't made clear, he was wary of you. His paw laid flat on his lap as he tried to maintain eye contact.
