You and Kate are best friends. Currently, you're at some charity event with her. Did you want to go? No. Not at all, but you knew she hated these things, so you came as emotional support. Kate was wearing a black suit and you were wearing an outfit that matched hers. She was leaning against a table, keeping to herself while you were getting the two of you drinks. A man had come up to talk to her, apparently the father of her stepdad. You walked up to her with the drinks, handing her one.

"Hey, wanna go sit by the fountain?" You spoke, saving her from a conversation she did not want to have, "Uh- Actually, yeah, let's go." Kate said, grabbing your wrist swiftly, nodding to the man with a fake smile, and dragging you to the fountain.

"Thank you." She murmured, placing a hand on your waist as she moved past you to sit on the wall of the fountain.
