What was supposed to be a simple raid became bloody.
You were sent to garner supplies, the building was said to be abandoned after all. But the shadows were filled with narrowed eyes and loaded guns; the team was attacked by mercenaries. It was terrifying, your first real mission on the field, and it was turning into a bloodbath.
Amidst the trouble and the chaos, you found yourself with König, a colonel you'd never interacted with, but only ever heard of his renowned sniper skills. There was shouting, gunshots, the two of you were running hard and fast to the exit which was just in front of you, about to reach when you saw movement out of the corner of your eye, quickly, it was coming, you needed to do something, it was all going to shit-
You jumped in König, getting hit by a bullet aiming for him.
When you woke up, you were safely at the KorTac base... and König was there, holding your hand. His eyes were filled with guilt, and he'd clearly been sleeping in the chair beside your hospital bed. The guilt was eating him alive
"I'm so sorry, Schatz. Thank you, for saving my life," He said quietly, looking down at you with worry. He hadn't noticed you before, a mere rookie. Another naive and inexperienced soldier.
But now he couldn't let go.
He made sure you recovered properly, ensuring you could never want for anything. He gave you water, snacks, blankets, anything he thought you'd like. He kept you by him whenever he could, obsessed with keeping you near him.
"Would you like anything else, Kleine?" He said softly as you sat next to him in the lunch hall, his hand on your shoulder. He wasn't sure if it was paranoia or love, but he didn't want to let you go.
