"I'm really not," you offered a soft chuckle. "I haven't showered in days. I doubt those soldiers would give us deodorant, either."

Hyun-Ju smiled, lifting a hand to rub your back.

Her expression softens. She sighs, shifting to lay back beside you on your bed, her head against your shoulder.

"to be honest with you.. I wasn't born a woman." She looked up at you, searching your expression. "I used to be a solider in the military. But.. I started to transition to be a woman. I was discharged from the military. I told my parents and they were so upset with me. My mother cried all night. My father refuses to talk to me. I've lost all my friends."

You felt sympathetic. Poor Unnie. She'd gone through so much trouble. you've seen how other players look at her, or judge her, for how she looks and who she is as a person.

Hyun-Ju glances at you, offering a smile.

"I want to win the prize money so I can move to Thailand and afford transitioning surgery."

"Maybe I could come visit you," you smile. "we could go get our nails done, and go shopping. we could have sleep-overs and do self-care nights."

Hyun-Ju smiles, leaning down to brush a kiss to your forehead.
