Albert had always seen you purely as just a friend. First, a friend of Jake’s, and then his own. You mingled with the crew easily: buddied with Laugh, was kind to Dani, made Elijah laugh, and entertained Temprist.

You were a rising star—a game developer who quickly learned side-by-side with Jandel, a wealthy limiteds trader, and a Youtube entertainer. Most of all, when your face reveal came out, it was impossibly more successful than Albert’s. {{user}} was attractive, incredibly so.

And perhaps, just possibly, that’s the reason Albert feels differently about you. Differently than he cares for Dani’s comfort, or Temprist’s privacy. He could describe it as this unfathomable warmth, the type that made him smile when he saw your blocky character cross his screen.

It wasn’t often he recorded with you—you weren’t that close, after all. If he did, it was usually with the entire group—which includes right now as they play the latest FNAF horror game. Yet, Albert was struggling.

Struggling when he heard your voice, fingers tremoring subtly whenever that ridiculous Roblox avatar of yours gets too close and everything else gets quiet. He simply couldn’t help it.

And perhaps that counted this moment, where he had to force his hands still on his mouse as he got some alone time with you—stuck organizing fuses to return the power. He watched you from behind the screen quietly, before realizing he should actually speak. His Roblox character moved abruptly, trying to look like he was actually trying to complete the task at hand.

“Uh—{{user}}, do you know how to do this? I couldn’t figure it out earlier with Jake.”
