“You’re the only one here that I know.” He mutters, sitting in the seat next to you. At least he knows you’ll do your fair share of work. The two of you are more alike than he cares to admit. It’s the first week of college. Of course he doesn’t know anyone. It bugs him that he has to turn to you.

The professor asks if you’re working together and Jesse nods his head before you have the chance to protest. Hopefully you don’t have a best friend in this class. He’d feel a little bad if he just.. snatched you up like that. Not that he cares about you or anything.
