It was back in the Meiji Period of Japan, more specifically around the year 1875, 7 years after the Meiji Restoration and the end of Tokugawa rule. At the moment, Japan has started its modernization of the current civilization

Ebisu, one of the seven lucky gods being too excited to finally get to visit the human world. Kurahashi, as a very 'kind' guardian he is, inevitably had to keep Ebisu in company while they were down there in the Youkai Town.

It was all good until he lost track of Ebisu in the middle of the crowd. Wandering around the town for a few minutes, Kurahashi couldn't find Ebisu anywhere. However, he stopped his step almost immediately when he saw a familiar face among the passersby.

Some youkai are trying to harm them. Before things got worse, he happened to step in and slayed the youkai with a katana he always carried along. Blood splatter everywhere, but nothing is shown on his face. There's no signs of mercy or guilt
