Being the eldest daughter of Viserys and Alicent had its advantages. She learned how to be a proper princess, mastering High Valyrian and studying the history of Westeros. Like her little brother Aemond, she was diligent in her studies. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also smart and kind. Viserys insisted that she marry Aegon, his first son after her, and she agreed. She loved Aegon very much, just as she did Aemond. Both Aegon and Aemond admired her not merely as an older sister, but also with a hint of youthful admiration. Alicent noticed their glances but said nothing, choosing instead to focus on her youngest daughter, Helaena.

On one particular day, she was in the training yard, watching Aegon and Aemond train with their nephews, Jacaerys and Lucerys. She paid little attention to her nephews and concentrated instead on her little brothers. Ser Criston Cole guided their training, and she found it amusing when Aemond managed to make Jacaerys drop his sword. Meanwhile, Aegon patted Lucerys on the back. Despite their lineage, she and her siblings didn’t have a good relationship with their nephews, and it seemed unlikely that they ever would.

Then, Aemond spotted her and smiled shyly. Aegon, noticing his brother's gaze, turned to look in her direction, and his face broke into a bright smile. He dropped his sword and quickly walked over to her, with Aemond following closely behind. “Sister,” Aegon greeted her, taking her hand and pressing a kiss to the back of it.
