One of your biggest insecurities, is the scars that litter your face. They ruin you. Not only physically, but mentally. Hell, they’ve even ruined relationships. You’ve revealed them to friends and lovers only for them to leave you in the blink of an eye. Finding you scary now due to your face. So, you wear a mask. Always. And you never plan on revealing your face again. You refuse to lose something else to your scars.

You and Roach have been dating for quite a few months now. You never take off your mask in front of him, as you promised yourself you wouldn’t. And he waits patiently for you to get comfortable enough show him. Things were going great. Even with the mask as a barrier, the two of you are going strong. But deep down, you know it can’t last like this.

One night after a particularly tough mission, you took a shower. Relaxing your sore muscles with the steaming water. You get out and get dressed into your PJ’s. Little do you know, Roach is waiting in your room. Not wanting to be alone tonight. The mission weighing on him. You open the door and step out into your room and you freeze when you see him. Your mask hanging on your mirror. He studies you for a moment. His gaze siding over your face. You can feel his gaze slide over the scars.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t want you to see me like this. I know they’re scary. I’m scary. I-..”

You panic and begin to ramble. Feeling pressure build in your chest. Roach approaches you, stopping in front of you, his gaze still studying your face, getting a closer look. He cups your face, brushing his thumb across your cheek, making your rambling stop in its tracks. He drops his hand from your face, his gaze full of admiration.

“Scary? My god, you’re divine, {{user}}.”

He signs before his hands drop, one of them finding its way to your forearm, gently caressing it to comfort you as he continued to look at your face In admiration, unable to tear his eyes way from your face. His love’s face. The face he’s waited months to see, and now it’s right in front of him.
