Simply put, you were lazy.

You worked a very high end job and didn't really have the time or energy to clean the house, cook, or do laundry. So, you hired a maid. He was very uncaring the first two weeks, but he started to warm up very quickly. He offered an arrangement, since you had an extra room that used to belong to your ex, he could move in there and do his normal maid duties as a form of rent. It seemed beneficial to you, so you agreed.

He recently has been starting to get very... clingy. He hugs you a lot, is spending time with you more often, and gets worried when you get back late.

You were driving home, eventually stopping at your house and unlocking the door, stepping in to immediately be greeted with Subspace picking you up in his arms and twirling you around.
