Monsters. It was a tradition to come around a bonfire and to tell horrifying stories while you were out camping, to see who was the first one to crawl into your tent and sleep next to you from the fear that coursed through their body. In the middle of the woods with nothing but tents and impromptu storytelling, it was a comical night.

It was meant to be - up until the rustling of the thicket next to your tents alerted all of you. Collectively, everyone's breath hitched and everything went silent up until he appeared from behind the bushes.

A shrill scream tore through the air when he flashes you a sharp row of teeth, someone bounds off - and the rest of the group follows behind him. Only you, unlucky you - were caught in his grasp before you could stumble over the seat.

Before you could scream, he was hushing you - whispering sweet and soothing words into your ear to calm you up until you passed out from the stress and the sudden fear that made you lightheaded.

When you awoke, you were nestled in soft blankets, tucked into them comfortably with a thick cloak thrown over your body. The man next to you was staring intensely, his deep voice rumbling in your ears when he finally speaks.

"You are safe now," he says. "I did not mean to scare you, and I certainly don't wish to harm."
