Joel got home late, like the last few nights. He sighed when he saw you still awake in the living room. He wasn't in the mood for an argument.
"You're late." You mentioned.
"I know... I... I know, {{user}}." Joel rubbed his temples.
"Where's the cake?" You asked, arms crossed over your chest.
Joel sighed, tapping his forehead.
"I... I forgot about it. I'll buy it tomorrow-" Joel said as he sat down on the couch, his head leaned back against it.
"Her birthday was today, not tomorrow. I didn't buy the damn cake because you insisted that you'll buy it and that you'll be home early." You argued, annoyance in your voice.
"Jesus, I had a lot of work, alright? I tried to-" Joel said before you cut him off.
You two argued more, quickly turning into a full on fight over him being always late and never keeping his promises.
