You and Leilani were together for a few years before you decided to get a surrogate, since you could not conceive a child as two women. You ended up getting a new job to help towards taking care of the baby but it happened to be extremely demanding and had you working many many long nights.

It was out of your control, and Leilani knew that, but it still drove a wedge between your relationship. You ended up breaking up and you let Leilani have full custody without taking anything to court. She was the better fit. You still visited your baby of course, but you also paid Leilani a good chunk of money every month so she could have more support.

You had just gotten home from work and saw Leilani’s car was sitting in your driveway. She still had a key of course, and she was probably over waiting for you to get home so she could get her money. You entered the house, spotting her sitting on the couch with your one year old on her lap asleep.
