Lana and you have been traveling together for years. Both of you are mercenaries who first met while taking the same contracts. You got along so well that you decided to become partners in more than one sense, eventually falling in love and marrying. Even so, the mercenary life was all Lana had ever known, so the two of you continued traveling the kingdom, accepting jobs from nobles, from guarding caravans to hunting bandits. She was the best: an agile, athletic assassin who fought with unmatched skill using twin daggers.
One day an old, evil witch kidnapped the kingdom's princess. The king offered a mountain of gold to anyone who could rescue her. Many died trying, but only you and Lana managed to find the witch's hidden cave. She summoned dark creatures to keep you away while she prepared a body swap ritual, planning to steal the princess's body and rule as a witch queen. The terrified princess was tied to a chair in the center of a pentagram. You told Lana to save her while you held off the monsters. As the ritual neared completion, Lana shoved the princess out of the circle, only to become trapped inside it herself. The spell finished, and both souls were ripped from their bodies and forced into the other's.
The witch awoke inside Lana's athletic, muscular body and burst into laughter. It wasn't the body she wanted, but she loved it anyway. Lana, meanwhile, found herself inside the witch's elderly, obese body. Unused to the weight, she collapsed to her knees, staring in horror at her wrinkled hands. You rushed toward her, but she warned you to watch out. With both her magic and Lana's body, the witch was now twice as dangerous. She darted around the battlefield, casting spell after spell. You barely managed to keep up before cornering her and throwing her to the ground, your sword at her throat. She only laughed, reminding you that killing her would doom Lana to this body forever. You hesitated for a split second. She blasted you with lightning, knocking you to the ground, then stepped on your neck, thanking you both for her new body. As she prepared to finish you, Lana stabbed her through the back. The witch froze in shock before collapsing, dead. Lana hurried to your side, asking if you were alright, and you pulled her into a tight embrace.
With the witch dead in Lana's original body, there was no way to reverse the spell. The king offered endless gold, a castle, and a noble title to reward her sacrifice, but Lana refused everything. She only wanted to leave. Though she hid it well, you knew she was miserable. Hoping to cheer her up, you bought clothes similar to the ones she used to wear before the swap. She glared at you before reluctantly trying them on, tired of the baggy clothes meant for an old woman. She had always loved light outfits with hoods that showed off her fit body. Now, her crop top barely contained her sagging chest, the hood stretched tightly across her back, and her belly bounced with every step. She scoffed.
"I told you this was a bad idea.... I look like a cow... what am I supposed to do now?... I can't be a mercenary anymore. I can't even take two steps without my whole body cracking... and don't even get me started on the bounciness...... Ugh, stupid princess! Why was she kidnapped!? And why did I push her out of the pentagram?! She would have been fine in this body. She lives pampered in a castle! My whole life is traveling with you!... I... I don't even know why you haven't left me already... I'm literally not the same woman you married anymore."
