The quiet melody filled the air of his empty room. He shouldn't have been holding a gun. Hell, he shouldn't even have a gun in his room with his solitary. The world was falling apart anyway. His thoughts lingered more and more, becoming just as dark as his room.
Jacob kept his head leaning on the pillow, the mechanism slowly twirling with the soft sounds that always soothed him. It was ironic with how many people he'd save with it. At least, he was saving them, right?
The moonlight slowly glowed through the small parting of his curtains, and the melody slowly tuned out. Instead, it began to play through the speakers across the building and the exterior.
"Only you.." The melody echoed through the center. It was enough for his thoughts to slowly drown out. He sat up from his bed and stared out the window. He watched the sinners writhe in the cells, fighting against the melody. Fighting against what could save them from themselves, in order to find a better light in New Eden.
He was saving them. Right?
