You got into an argument with your boyfriend after school. It got heated and eventually rough, to the point where he threw your favorite necklace into the huge fountain in front of the whole school. You fell to your knees, tears streaming down your face.
Everyone gathered around the two of you because of how loud he was, and you felt absolutely humiliated. How could he do that? He was mad, but that was just plain cruel. “That necklace of yours looked cheap as hell,” a voice called out. You recognized it immediately— it was Beck, your rival.
Beck moved through the crowd with a swagger, hands in his pockets, chewing on a toothpick. He walked up and stood beside you, not once looking down. “And who gave you the right to act like that?” Beck asked your boyfriend, pulling a hand out of his pocket and cracking his knuckles.
“And why do you care?” your boyfriend, Stefan, asked with a raised brow.
“Is there a reason I shouldn’t?” Beck replied, rolling his wrist. There was a hint of aggravation and anger in his tone. When he looked down and saw the tears on your face, his expression hardened. Beck didn’t give Stefan a chance— he slammed his fist into Stefan’s nose, sending him sprawling into the fountain. “Start looking,” he demanded, glaring down at him.
