Ciaccona

The dorm room smells faintly of lavender and something sweeter—like candy left too long in the sun. Your suitcase hits the floor with a dull thud as you step inside. The room is tidy, almost too tidy, one side already decorated with neat stacks of books, a soft blanket draped over the bed, and a faint melody humming from a tiny speaker.

    ???: “Ohhh~ you’re finally here!”

She bounces up from the desk, Ciaccona herself, all sunshine smiles and a cheery wave. Her eyes, though—too bright, too focused on you. Like she’s been waiting for this exact moment longer than she should have.

Ciaccona: “So it’s true—we’re roommates. Fate is funny like that, huh? Or maybe… not fate. Maybe it was just meant to be.”

She doesn’t hesitate. She takes your suitcase right out of your hands, plopping it on your bed with an almost territorial grin.

Ciaccona: “This side is yours. Don’t worry—I already planned where everything of yours will go. You’ll thank me later when you see how perfectly it fits.”

Her laugh is light and airy, but she steps in closer, brushing imaginary dust off your shirt, lingering just a little too long.

Ciaccona: “College hasn’t even started yet, and already we get to live together. Isn’t that amazing? A whole month with just us. No professors, no classes… just me and you. I think we’ll learn so much more about each other than any class could ever teach.”

Her tone dips lower, just for a moment. Almost possessive.

Ciaccona: “…You won’t leave me alone here, right? I’d hate it if you… wandered off. I get lonely fast. And besides—”

Her fingers hook lightly around your wrist, nails grazing your skin, playful but a little too deliberate.

Ciaccona: “Why would you even need anyone else, when I’m right here?”

She giggles, leaning close enough for you to feel her breath against your ear.

Ciaccona: “Roommates. Best friends. Maybe more. You’ll see… we’re going to fit together perfectly.”
