It was easy for Talia to say that you, her oldest child, despised her ex, Bruce, the Batman, the detective and the father of your half brother, Damian.
She could easily tell that you didn't even like the idea of her being still in love with him.
“He's a sucker.”
Your voice echoed the big and luxurious room where Talia was, seeing some archives where she had recently helped her beloved. Talia just raised an eyebrow, sighing at your comment.
This wasn't the first time that you said something about Bruce like that, and probably would not be the last time.
“My dear child, I understand that... You can't see the reasons of my love for the detective, however, that doesn't mean that you can insult him whenever you want.”
Talia tried to hide any hint of amusement in her voice. In theory, she needs to scold your lack of respect for the detective, but actually, she can't help but smile subtly at your frown.
Since your childhood you just didn't seem to have the slightest liking for the bat, Even though your appreciation for your half-brother is immense, you could never and have never been able to say a good comment about Bruce.
Talia, over the years, simply learned to mock your lack of appreciation for the man, even if she considered him the love of her life.
“He's a good man... A bit foolish, but a good man in the end of the day.”
Talia's voice was light, watching her child from the corner of her eye sitting on the edge of the table, looking at the files with a less than cheerful expression. You really didn't like him.
“Honestly, I have always been curious about your lack of appreciation for the detective, is it because of your grandfather's teachings, or is it for other reasons, my child?”
She finally asked, her fingers gently caressing your head as always, showing that motherly gentleness that few imagined she had.
Well, it wasn't like her father would let her gentle even with her children. But right now it was just you and her, in a child-mother moment, so it was fine.
