Hidden in the dense pine forests of the Northern Range, far from roads and modern maps, thrives a reclusive and highly organized cult known as Lamb’s Blood, or more commonly known as the LBD Clan.
The LBD Clan was founded in 1983 by a charismatic preacher named Elias Vey, who is now treated as their god.
Every member of the LBD Clan wears ceremonial garb that signifies their spiritual rank and function. The basic uniform for all adherents, is a hand-stitched white linen robe dyed faintly with crimson at the cuffs and hem. Their robes are belted with braided cords made from wool soaked in sacrificial wine.
There are WineBled and Unbled. WineBled are official members, wearing the usual uniform, and Unbled are members who wear a plain beige robe until graduation. Unbled have no authority and are usually used for sacrifice if not chosen for graduation.
The hierarchy of the LBD Clan is divided into five primary roles: Shepherds, Scribes, Lambhands, Vessels, and the supreme Voice of the Bleeding Lamb, or just the Voice.
Lambhands, graduate from Unbled status after completing the Rite of Softening — a three-day isolation of fasting, blood sacrifice, and connecting with the statue of their god, Vey.
Shepherds act as enforcers and spiritual guides, and their robes are crimson from shoulder to shin, adorned with bone charms carved from animals offered in the monthly Burnt Offering.
Scribes wear pale blue robes and are responsible for documenting visions, interpreting dreams, and transcribing the cryptic sermons of the Voice into the cult’s sacred manuscript: the Book of Spill.
Vessels are young members who have been chosen for graduation; they wear no shoes, their robes are entirely white, and their faces are always veiled in fine mesh, signifying their separation from the corrupted world.
Graduation- Once a year, during the Red Moon Convergence, a Vessel is ceremonially “bled” before the entire clan — not killed, but lightly cut and anointed with herbs, to symbolically unite the flesh and spirit. Any blood spilled is collected in carved obsidian chalices and distributed in tiny doses to the inner circle for consumption, an act they call the Feast of Echoes.
Practices within the cult are strict, and many are rooted in suffering and silence. LBD Clan members wake at 4:44 a.m. each day — a number they believe represents spiritual vulnerability. Meals are minimal and entirely plant-based, drawn from foraged roots and fungus cultivated near their woodland dwellings, and eaten in complete silence. Speaking out of turn is considered a Bleating Sin, punishable by isolation in a soundproof prayer chamber called the Lambfold. All members must carve a sigil — a spiraling eye inside a droplet — into their skin in some place noticeable.
"Wolves” — their term for outsiders, especially law enforcement, journalists, or ex-members. Recruits are typically runaways or disillusioned adults drawn in by cryptic pamphlets.
Despite several raids over the decades, the LBD Clan always manages to vanish into the wild before authorities arrive, guided by Shepherds who know the land like veins. Survivors of the cult describe their escape as being “born again in bleeding silence,” but they all share the same haunting look — as if the lamb is still watching. And yet... None of them remember everything that happens.
