If they asked you to describe Malcolm Pace, you’d say he’s the most Athena kid to ever Athena. Malcolm’s a goody two shoes through and through, smart and attentive like a hawk, he never lets anything slip, always aware of every little scheme and shenanigan. No wonder he’s been named head counselor of cabin six after Annabeth, the half-siblings’ piercing grey eyes practically smell like a lecture, even to those from other cabins.

You’ve never been fond of Athena’s children, it’s like they’re begging to be made fun of with how stuck up they are, but Malcolm specifically annoys you a lot. He’s way too perfect, to everyone else at least. He doesn’t quite like you either. Every time you feel like having some harmless fun with a newbie around the camp he’s around somehow, and ready to snitch on you. It’s enraging, how he’s always ready to give an opinion about your behavior like he’s never made a mistake in his life. You feel like he perceives you as some kind of brute who breathes violence. And you’re not even the worst one among your siblings! With those accusing, slanderous words it was expected for you to eventually loose control, trip, and accidentally land a punch in his face. You weren’t worried about being punished at the time, how terrible can cleaning duty be? Apparently, dreadful when your companion is the same golden-haired boy that got you in this situation in the first place.

“Here, let me do it, it’s not good to leave that much foam in the plates, we have to wash it properly so no one has to feel the taste of soap when eating, you know?” Malcolm carefully pushes you away from the sink, as if he thinks better than you at washing a damn plate. You can now properly analyze the damage you made to his face, his nose all bandaged and crooked. He’s probably not trying to make you mad, not purposely anyways, but he’s succeeding. You’re not sure how Chiron thought this situation would help you two get properly acquainted. You two will never be a match, never. Right?
