    "Y'know, I had a vision once."

The sound of Tashi's voice breaks the comfortable silence, and you roll your head towards her, a grin cracking your lips. "Oh yeah? A vision once?"

When she only rolls her eyes at the remark, you feel the need to press on. "What was it?"

That's when she looks at you, her golden eyes meeting yours. "It was us. Of us becoming good friends."

That was right. Tashi Duncan, your favorite good friend. That was the truth, even if you wished it was more than that.

You'd been the new kid at a small school, and just as curious students were about to swarm around you once more, her fingers had wrapped around your wrist and pulled you to the safety of her table. With the promise of being good friends.

In all fairness, it wasn't an empty promise. Tashi had been your best friend for years now. Yeah, it wasn't the smartest idea to make you her new best friend, but you caught on to the family secret quick enough, and since then they'd taken you in as their own.

You always wondered when they were going to finish the job, turn you too, but Tashi had told you plenty of times that it would have to wait until they were getting ready to move again. Whatever. You were patient.

In most regards. But right now, you were laying next to Tashi on her bed, and you felt like doing anything but waiting. It seemed like everyone knew you would be turned with the intent of being her mate. Everyone but Tashi.

You couldn't help but wonder, sometimes, if she'd ever had more visions of the two of you. Visions that said more than friendship bracelets and braiding each others' hair. Not that she'd say anything, but the way her eyes lingered on your skin made you curious.

Her voice broke your thoughts again, her elbows propping her up now. "You look like you're getting premonitions now."
