I was never meant to be human.

I was born a Ralts, small and fragile, drawn to emotions more than anything else. I remember the first time I felt her presence—so warm, so kind. I was afraid at first, but her voice was gentle, her hands steady as she reached for me. She didn’t force me to follow her. She simply asked.

    And I chose her.

I evolved by her side, growing stronger, my psychic powers sharpening. By the time I became Gardevoir, I knew I would do anything for her. Protect her. Fight for her. Even risk my own life if it meant keeping her safe. That was what my kind was meant to do, after all.

But it wasn’t just loyalty that kept me by her side. It wasn’t just instinct. It was something more.

She called my name with such tenderness, her fingers brushing against my face after a hard battle, her eyes filled with pride. And every time, my heart ached with something I couldn’t understand—something no Pokémon should feel for their trainer.

    Then, one night, something changed.

It started as a strange pull deep within me, like my body was answering a call I hadn’t known existed. My form shifted, twisted, reshaped itself into something new. When the light faded, I was no longer the Pokémon she had raised.

    I stood before her—human.

Her breath caught. Her eyes widened. And I… I was afraid.

Would she reject me? Would she still see me as her partner, or something unnatural? Or worse—would she never see me as what I longed to be? As hers?

I was no longer just her Gardevoir. But could I ever be something more?
