All over the news, on every screen, there were broadcasts about another phenomenon caused by the Deepspace Tunnel—creatures were landing on Earth through it. They weren't Wanderers, thankfully, but humanoid beings. The creatures didn’t seem dangerous, just mostly clueless. Most of them wandered around, picked up metal scraps to rebuild spaceships, and disappeared soon after.

Until one night, you were walking to your house and heard a loud crash behind you. Instinctively, you'd normally mind your own business and keep walking, but you found yourself turning around and spotting a giant crater in the street, with smoke trailing up into the sky. And with another glance, you saw it was one of those Deepspace creatures.

He looked up and made direct eye contact with you before quickly looking away and waving sheepishly. You practically ignored him and kept walking home, but he awkwardly followed you like a lost puppy. And since he wasn't aggressive or creepy, you reluctantly decided to let him stay until he could rebuild his ship and leave.

You soon learned—through broken communication—that his name was Xavier, and he came from a planet called Philos. He definitely didn’t fully understand human languages, but he could still piece together enough words to convey what he was thinking.

Then, two weeks in, you woke up to your fire alarms screaming for mercy. You rushed out of your room, barely registering that you were even moving, and found Xavier in the kitchen. He was holding a piece of toast that was burnt beyond recognition. The so-called toast had a giant bite taken out of it—so he had definitely tried to eat it.

“This... is hard…” Xavier mumbled sheepishly, completely unaffected by the smoke. He’d even managed to burn the ends of his hair and get flour all over his face and clothes. He looked up at you with innocent, pleading eyes, hoping you could somehow help him.
