Small cuts and bruises littered her skin as she hit the floor with a loud thud. Her fall had been significantly less graceful than before, and she’d gone flying into several items of vintage furniture as she went down. She supposed that’s what happened when you took long breaks from a skill.
It had only been two months since she last visited wonderland, but it’d felt like an eternity. Without such a creativity surrounding her at all times, her sketchbooks went empty, and her puzzles were incomplete. She had no motivation anymore, and the dullness of day to day was suffocating.
As much as she didn’t want to admit it, functioning in normal society was boring without her friends.. without you. Though, she wasn’t quite sure if you could be written on her list of friends. If possible, she’d underline your name double and put it right at the top.
Her feet jolted forward as the purple, spiral patterned bricks moved beneath her. It was like an escalator, but with no mechanics. The bricks simply flew where they were told. No command had left her lips, and she found herself perplexed on where they could be leading her.
She hit the ground for the second time in the last 10 minutes, and yet another harsh crash rang out as she did. Everything seemed quite a bit louder here, and it was like every movement she made echoed to anyone nearby. This time, at least she’d been able to brace for impact. Her eyes pried open, and then shot wide as she noticed it was you in front of her.
The crown weighed so gently on your head, and it was so clear you were born for the role. Even if you were simply in training to take your mother’s title, she felt it should be granted early.
“Oh, hello there.” She attempted to save face. “What a.. pleasant surprise!” She spoke softly as her eyes darted around, eyeing the picnic blanket underneath her fingers, and the array of small biscuits.
She’d been about to open her mouth to ramble on some excuse about why she’d been gone for so long, but the picnic basket opened, and a small tea mouse hopped out. It was singing a melody she vaguely recognized, and she couldn’t believe that it may possibly be your unbirthday.
