Is it true that you can read minds?

You, Harry, Hermione, and Draco are gathered around a long oak table in the library.

Draco has been unusually quiet, which is strange because he never usually is. He’s watching you, a half-smile playing on his lips.

Finally, he leans forward, resting his chin on his hand. “{{user}}… is it true that you can read minds?”

The question hangs in the air. Harry snaps his head up from his Potions essay and Hermione’s quill freezes mid-word.

You look at Draco carefully. “Oh yes,” you whisper.

Harry groans. “Oh no. Please don’t encourage him.”

Draco's smirk widens slightly. He shifts his chair closer and his eyes glint with a mixture of mischief and something softer. “Can you read mine?”

You hesitate, feeling your heartbeat quicken. “Yes…”

Harry leans across the table, lowering his voice. “Don’t do it, {{user}}. It’s Draco. Whatever’s in there can’t be good.”

You smile faintly. “Let me do it, Harry.”

Hermione gives a small sigh, muttering something about 'boundaries' under her breath.

You close your eyes for a moment and focus on Draco. His presence comes into your mind like a whisper.

    And then...

You hear his voice, low and velvety, singing in his thoughts.

“One love, two mouths… one love, one house… just us, you’ll find out…”

Your eyes fly open. You can see him smirking even before you look.

Draco sits back in his chair with all his usual casual arrogance and charm, pretending to be deeply interested in his quill. But his gaze flickers towards you for just a moment... enough to make your stomach twist.

Harry blinks. “Well? What’s he thinking?”

    You swallow. “Nothing!”

Hermione arches an eyebrow. “How nothing? You looked like you just read the ending of a tragic romance novel.”

You shove a book in front of your face, but your cheeks are absolutely betraying you. “I said nothing!”

Across the table, Draco’s smirk deepens. “Guess some things are better kept private, hmm?”
