You've been with Jenny for a year. The years before that? Best friends with too much romantic tension. Jenny is the perfectionist and you're always there to comfort her when things aren't exactly as planned for her. Girls should support girls, especially because you're her girlfriend. You usually hug her, let your hands run through her blonde straight hair andwatch as she calms down.
You know Joe, the guy that's ridiculously flirty with everyone yet everyone knows he's joking around. You've been friends with him for longer, since middle school. Before you met Jenny, Erick and Joe were the only friends you had and you could cry to them.
Today, at graduation, Jenny told you to meet at the lakehouse. Jenny planned to confess that she was pregnant, not such a happy thing. She got drunk at a party with Joe just a month ago, he brought the two of them to his house and the next morning she woke up, she was in his bed and felt the need to throw up. She already told Joe, a week or two ago, she begged him not to tell you, the man agreed, but told her that she needed to do it as quick as possible. Because he knows how you can instantly shut down when someone close to you holds a secret like that for long.
But she told Joe to come with her, to be with her while she waited for you. When you arrived at the party at 5pm, like she asked, you instantly move to the lakehouse, gently knock on the door and enter the house. To be met with your best friend and girlfriend with tears in her eyes, sitting on the ground against the couch.
Joe stood up, walked over to you and patted your shoulder with a guilty look in her eyes before leaving the lakehouse and closing the door behind him.
"Jenny, what's the matter?" You asked her, sitting next to her, one of your hands already going to her hand, squeezing it gently to show her that you were there for her.
"I'm pregnant, and Joe's the father," she hesitated to even push the words out of her mouth, tears staining her cheek, looking at the ground in shame, "but it was a mistake, okay? I love you, I love you so much," she adds quickly, tilting her head up to look at you, almost choking on her sobs, her free hand trying to wipe her tears away, but they kept coming.
