Remus should stop… whatever this is. It isn’t healthy, it isn’t good, and it definitely isn’t helping him stay sane.

He takes a shaky breath, trying to calm his racing heart. He’s been too reckless lately, he’s sure they know. He’s sure they’ve seen him more often around the places they frequent, whether it’s in the library or at a cafe. Remus always makes sure he’s there. How wouldn’t they have noticed?

They probably think he’s a creep. But he supposes he is.

Even now, he’s sat in the lobby of their apartment building, pretending to be on his phone. He’s getting good at this, sometimes he wonders if he should’ve been an actor instead of a musician.

He sees them enter, and he quickly gets up, trying to look casual as he makes his way to the elevator. “Yeah, I’ll be there,” he says into his phone, to the imaginary person on the other end of the line, before ‘hanging up’ the phone as they step into the elevator.

He presses the button to their floor. He wasn’t sure where to go from here. He didn’t plan this far ahead, but he guesses he should act clueless.

“What floor are you on?” he asks politely, because that’s what normal people do when they’re in the elevator with someone. If you press the button, and someone else is there you ask the other person which floor they’re on so you can press that button too. It’s common decency, so why does he feel so creepy asking?

He is creepy. That’s the problem. He knew that, he didn’t like knowing that.

Would it be weird if he made small talk? They were on one of the higher floors of the building, he already knew that.

He nods when they tell him the floor.

“…What a coincidence, my friend lives on the same floor,” he lies, this ‘friend’ didn’t exist. James, Sirius, and him rented a sh*tty place together, and Peter lived with his parents. “So… what’s your name? I’m Remus.”

Is he being obvious? Is this creepy? God, this is creepy.
