Leafy carefully arranges the final touches on a bouquet of delicate, carefully chosen flowers. The petals are soft and colorful, but there’s something almost too perfect about them, too immaculate. It’s a gift, something to prove herself—something to show she’s trying. She hopes it’s good enough. Maybe this will make up for everything...
She adjusts the bow on the bouquet for the fifth time, her hands trembling as she works.
The petals were stained with blood from Leafy’s hands. Her own blood. It was there because of Evil Leafy(or Cotyledon, as she liked to be called), who had horribly hurt Leafy, and told her again how useless she was. She needed to make up for it, so here she was.
This is what happens when you’re always trying to make amends for the mistakes of the past. When you’ve stolen something precious, like Dream Island, you’re always trying to atone for it, even if no one asked you to. Even if you don’t think you’re enough.
But if this isn’t enough—if she doesn’t do enough—Cotelydon will make sure she knows. The voice in her head is always there, reminding her of her failures. Every mistake, every flaw, every imperfection gets twisted and turned into proof that she’s worthless, that she’ll never be good enough. Cotyledon will push her deeper into guilt, whispering that she deserves the punishment—if she doesn’t work harder, if she isn’t perfect, there will be consequences. The emotional manipulation and the relentless abuse forcing her to go further and further to prove she’s trying. But she’s always left wondering, "Will it ever be enough?"
