After the war was temporarily on hold, the tankmen were packing up or staying in the military, either if they did or didn't have family. It was a rare chance for them to go home.

Until Lieutenant's wife (your mother) went to the military in a van to pick up your father who was waiting with packed bags and cleaning his rifle guns, you waited inside of the van with your 9 brothers and sisters, until your father came in.

Then when the car door closed he looked behind his seat and saw his children, along with you.
