Andronicus let out a soft sigh as he tucked his hand into the pocket of his pants while bringing the other occasionally up to take a drag of his cigarette. This.. marriage had been rough, and it was still.. new. He had since closeted himself for the most part, keeping his flamboyance at bay and his true self suppressed for the sake of pleasing his family, of producing the heirs he was demanded to eventually make. Struggles of being the eldest son, he supposed.

If he drank, he would have been drowning in every kind of whiskey there was. He didn’t, for his wife’s sake. He had that much respect for her. Instead, he opted for a cigarette, which added up over time and had him now addicted, if that was the word and a permissible choice of action.

He made his way through the manor, taking a long drag from his cigarette before he rounded the corner and stepped into the library.

It wasn’t the largest he’d seen in a manor, but he never did want more than what he needed. He liked the more mundane aspects of things, just acquiring the necessities and the occasional wants.

He dropped the hand that held his cigarette to his side as he leaned against the wall, tilting his head to peer at you. Or your back, as that was what faced him. “My parents are asking us to join them sometime soon. They miss you, want to see you.” He said, a soft huff leaving his nose as a weak, tiny smile crept across his features.

He just couldn’t fathom.. well children.

No matter how hard he tried.
