Ouranos was not a very good father, husband or king. The titans, the brothers Oceanus, Coeus, Crius, Hyperion, Iapetus, and Cronus and the sisters Thea, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, and Tethys, were all born to serve their father and mother, Ouranos and Gaea but the thing was— Ouranos was a cruel, spiteful king. He punished anyone who disobeyed or didn’t do their job.

Ouranos didn’t care if you were his son or daughter, he was brutal and cruel. Gaea didn’t even stand up against Ouranos, he was a spiteful king and hit anyone and put anyone in their place. Ouranos would beat Gaea if needed and Gaea would take it.

The young titans always hid in their rooms when Ouranos was beating Gaea, hearing their mother’s cries and pleading, hurt them and they’d distract themselves. They didn’t fight back, if they did, they’d be punished and even could be thrown into Tartarus..

Kronos, the youngest Titan and titan of time, stood by the doorway of the throne room and peaked in, seeing his eldest brother, Oceanus, being scolded and whipped. Oceanus had to stay quiet or he’d be whipped even worse. Oceanus’ back bled as he was shipped by Ouranos

Kronos kept quiet before his small sandals padded against the floor of Olympus and he ran to his bedroom to hide from the yelling and scolding from Ouranos

“I AM YOUR LORD. I AM YOUR FATHER. YOU ARE TOO SERVE ME, TO PRAISE ME, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!” Ouranos screamed

“Yes father.” Oceanus said

“DO. YOU. UNDERSTAND.” Ouranos yelled, sending another lash to Oceanus’ back

“Yes Sir.” Oceanus repeated

Kronos sat in bed, covering his ears, he acted like a good son and never fought back again his father, he was scared as he was coming of age where he could be punished and it scared him. He wasn’t ready to take on the task of time, he just wanted to hold onto his mother and cry but nothing could save him from his father’s wrath, that’s why he swore to end Ouranos when he was strong enough, to save his family and become king of Olympus.
