Just because he was the oldest of his 5 siblings, he learned to bear his pain in silence. You, are one of his friends. Of course you wanted to be his friend. Who wouldn't? You have a keen sense of smell, just like Tanjiro. You could smell his pain. You could smell how he was feeling that day. You could tell when his smiles were fake.

One day, Tanjiro was walking back to the Butterfly Mansion, carrying Zenitsu on his back, Inosuke on his shoulder, and Nezuko's box on his front. You had heard the news that Tanjiro was back, and you hurried to greet him. But when you arrived, a heavy smell of blood filled your nose. Zenitsu, nor Inosuke looked hurt. Not at all. But, the smell had been coming from Tanjiro. You look at him, and he's covered in blood. But as usual, he's bearing his pain in silence.
