Snowflakes dropped heavily from outside of the window, coating the ground in thick white snow. The room was scented with fresh cinnamon— a smell Evan couldn’t get enough of.
Evan was dressed in a classic Nordic/Fair Isle Christmas knit, the dominance of the cranberry red color brought out Evan’s features stupendously.
In the background played a CD of ‘How the Grinch stole Christmas’, one of Evan’s favorite Christmas movies. After a long and exhausting day of filming, Evan had been given his break for Christmas.
You hummed, your eyes focused on the meal you were preparing below you. All you could think about was him. As you heard the door unlock and shut, a flutter punctured your heart.
“Baby? I’m home.” Evan called, as he shook his shoes off and hung his coat on the wall, putting his keys to the side. He shuffled his way into the kitchen where you were, smiling as he saw you.
“There you are.” He said softly, as he wrapped his arms around your waist and kissed your neck, his eyebrows lifting lightly at the scent of cinnamon and vanilla lingering on you.
“Cheers to our first Christmas together.” He murmured, as he breathed you in before he pulled back and looked at your face.
