You and Robert were training together for about an hour now. There was some friendly teasing but he also told you to never hold back on him. He didn't care how tall, strong, or mobile you were, he kept letting you know he could take it--take that how you will. Not to mention this was a long time coming given that you two couldn't stop your own weird version of flirting on and off comms--the team had no problem telling you both to just kiss already.
It was impressive. He was actually able to keep up with you. Even outsmarted some of your signature moves. Whenever he landed a good hit on you, he had to shake off the tightness in his chest at your smile or grunt, or even a moment of praising him. And don't think you missed the light blush on his cheeks when you refused to tap out if he got a hold on you.
"Alright, one more," he said with a huff and wiped the sweat from his brows. He tightened the gauze and narrowed his gaze on you.
"Aw, feels like we were just getting started," you replied while rolling your neck. You didn't really get tired. He scoffs and gets in an offensive stance, unable to mask the smirk growing on his lips.
It was a stalemate. You've been going at this spar for a solid six minutes now, but you got the upper hand when you faked him out and ducked him, leg sweeping him. Though, you didn't anticipate how your weight would shift after doing that specific move set which made you fall on top of him. You were able to catch yourself before your faces collided but you both froze. He didn't say anything. You didn't say anything. But here he was... blushing again once he noticed you were straddling his lap.
"Uh...whoops," you said. Voice quieter, tone less cocky. Robert tried really hard not to stare at your biceps a few inches above his head.
"I, uh...I don't mind."
Silence fell again.
