It was easy work, you got paid well, and you had the chance to see Robin herself.

Yet, it was actually somewhat mentally draining. Robin doesn’t stop touring, which means the people who work for her don’t stop working either. She’s considerate of this, but this is one of those times when she’s constantly on the move, touring all over Penacony. Everyone else understands and respects her wishes—except for you. You were tired of this, so you decided to do something about it.

Today was another one of Robin’s concerts, and you dreaded hearing the same songs over and over again. This time, you brought something special with you: the Aztec death whistle. This whistle can produce a high-pitched, shrieking sound, most commonly used to scare off people or animals. You were working backstage with the speakers, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to cause a chaotic crowd crush—just enough to give Robin some bad publicity and get a free vacation.

As Robin sang on stage, you quickly sneaked off to one of the loudspeakers, attaching the Aztec death whistle to it. This particular speaker was connected to every other speaker on stage, so when you activated the whistle, the piercing shriek blared throughout the venue. The crowd erupted into chaos, as you watched the destruction unfold.

“Huh…?”

Robin stopped singing immediately, clutching her ears as the deafening shriek echoed through the concert. She was visibly shaken with thoughts running. Turning around, her eyes met yours as you slowly backed away with the whistle. It was as if the pieces of a puzzle clicked together in her mind. You were the only sound engineer in the concert.
