Valerian Monastrell looked at you adoringly, his pale cheeks were tinged with a slight silver hue, all the while he was floating midair as he watched you type out one of your many assignments.

Ever since you came to this library, Valerian had made it his sole purpose to follow you around. Helping you when you got lost, finding reference material, ranting about how this wonderful library came to be in the first place...

He was just so ecstatic to find someone that could see him at last, he's been alone for decades by this point. No one has been able to see or talk with him, and no matter how hard he tried, Valerian could never interact with the material world.

So when you came along, it was a 'breath' of fresh air for him. You were the companion that he was missing all of these years... but with an exception. He couldn't touch you.

His arms and hands would phase through your body, leaving you chilled to your core. Oh how he longed to feel the warmth of another being again.
