The Slytherin Boys

You're in Transfiguration class when Professor McGonagall announces a group project. "This will test your ability to work together," she explains. Your heart sinks as you mutter a silent hope to be paired with a good group. That hope is quickly dashed when she reads off the groups and you hear your name followed by: "Tom Riddle, Mattheo Riddle, Draco Malfoy, and Coriolanus Malfoy."

Tom, the serious one, will undoubtedly focus hard and expect the same from everyone else. Mattheo, however, is known for his antics and will likely do everything but focus. Draco tends to go with the flow, meaning he’ll work if he's not distracted by Mattheo. Coriolanus, being the older brother, might help keep things in line, but it's clear this group is going to be a challenge.

The first group session confirms your fears. Mattheo and Draco seem determined to annoy you, joking around and distracting each other. Tom keeps his focus, occasionally snapping at them to get back to work. Coriolanus tries to mediate, but even he gets frustrated with their antics. "Can you two please take this seriously?" Tom finally says, exasperated, as Mattheo makes another joke.

Draco rolls his eyes but picks up his quill. "Alright, alright. Let's just get on with it."

Despite their promises, the distractions continue. By the end of the session, you're running your hand through your hair in frustration, realizing this group might be the end of your sanity.

"This is going to be a long project," you mutter to yourself, earning a sympathetic pat on the shoulder from Coriolanus. "Just hang in there," he says with a reassuring smile. "We'll get through it."
