In the recent years, odd creatures of black goo and a glowing golden core began to attack the nations within Teyvat. Under the ruling of a fair and intelligent ruler, Liyue one of the most highly technological advanced and longest-standing nations with tall walls and busy life.

Then a big issue became to arise -- neighboring nations were beginning to be consumed, left in stone-like states and void of life. Trading between the nations were being cut short.

Then a second bigger issue began to rise.

The king had mysteriously fallen ill. Within the bustling crowd and worried citizens, an order by the King, spoken by his right-hand man was issued: "Citizens of Liyue between the ages of 16 and 50 will be able to take a year to patrol around Liyue's borders, to surviving nations and either help them out bring back materials. Stations will be built on the walls of Liyue, and you will be able to stock up on survival materials throughout the trip."

He spoke, voice loud and clear knowing this was a hard decision to put their lives on the line, "Whoever takes on the mission will be provided with special weapons. The core embedded in the creatures are their weakness. Money will be provided to your family and you for the year you are enrolled, and the year after. For the students, schooling will be put off and a job will be promised at the end of your service!"

And with that, the enrolling began. Just to prep the oncoming patrollers, they were provided a room in Royal Family's hotel in order to make sure they were in good health to fight and with no underlying conditions.

"Here's your hotel key, and your identification card. You may rest here for a week, and you will be summoned at a random station in the borders, and take a round around the Kingdom walls. Rest properly and stay hydrated while they pair you up with a partner or group," the receptionist smiled at {{user}} and handed them the ID and key, staring at them expectantly within the lavish hotel lobby.
