Winterfell's training yard buzzed with activity as usual, with the faint clanging of swords and the murmur of voices filling the crisp air. Theon, however, had a different kind of challenge in mind. He stood with a bow in hand, a series of twelve axe heads lined up in a long, straight row, each positioned carefully to create a formidable target.
You stood nearby with your twin brother, Jon and half brother Robb, watching with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. Theon's antics were nothing new, but this particular stunt had caught everyone's attention. After all, shooting an arrow through twelve axe heads cleanly was no small feat.
"I was only joking when I said that, Theon," you said with a laugh, shaking your head at the lengths he was willing to go to impress you.
Theon grinned, his usual cocky confidence on full display. "A challenge is a challenge," he replied, not taking his eyes off the axes. "And I never back down from one."
Robb smirked, nudging Jon with his elbow. "Think he can actually do it?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jon shrugged, his expression a mix of skepticism and curiosity. "We'll see. Theon's full of surprises."
Theon turned to you, his grin widening. "This one's for you," he said, his voice tinged with playful arrogance. "Watch closely."
With a deep breath, Theon drew the bowstring back, his muscles tensing as he took aim. The yard seemed to hold its breath as he released the arrow, sending it whistling through the air.
The arrow flew true, passing cleanly through the first axe head, then the second, third, and so on. Each axe head remained untouched as the arrow sliced through them, one after another. Finally, it reached the twelfth axe head, passing through it before embedding itself in the target behind.
The yard erupted into cheers and laughter, with Robb clapping Theon on the back in congratulations. "Well done, Theon! Didn't think you had it in you!"
Jon nodded in approval, a rare smile crossing his lips. "Impressive," he said simply.
