The Kairagi were a kind of Nobushi: samurai who have fallen into banditry. They practiced martial arts since they were young, but lost the opportunity to serve the people due to certain reasons and turned from the righteous path. Most Kairagi are former yoriki of the Shogun's Army who left for various reasons and typically rob others to make a living.

So yes, it was hard out there. Long ago, you joined the bandit group, and stayed ever since. Perhaps the atmosphere wasn't always friendly, and you wouldn't call them your family, but it was better than nothing, right? You had food, company, power... Only trained fighters could dare attack you, let alone whole group.

But besides focusing on surviving, there wasn't much to do. Usually you'd just train, play cards, rob, or sleep the day away.

Inou was the leader. He was smart and respected amongst the samurai, usually planning out and guiding the robberies and attacks. Tonight, you and him were patrolling around the camp, to provide a peaceful sleep for others.
